About Xirtam H Tablet

Xirtam H Tablet is a medication formulated as a combination of Olmesartan medoximil and Hydrochlorothiazide, two active substances that work together to help regulate high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. High blood pressure is a condition where the force of blood against artery walls is elevated, posing a risk for heart-related issues like heart attacks, strokes, and other complications. Xirtam H Tablet functions by removing excess fluid and electrolytes from the body, aiding in lowering blood pressure levels and improving blood flow, which ultimately reduces the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Olmesartan medoximil, one of the components of Xirtam H Tablet, is an angiotensin receptor blocker that acts by blocking the hormone angiotensin, causing blood vessels to relax and widen, facilitating smoother blood flow and more efficient heart function. Hydrochlorothiazide, the other component, is a diuretic or water pill that aids in eliminating excess water and certain electrolytes from the body, further lowering fluid overload and enhancing blood pressure control.

It is recommended to take Xirtam H Tablet with a glass of water, with or without food, as per the guidance of your doctor. It should not be chewed, bitten, or broken. Your healthcare provider will determine the frequency of dosage based on your specific medical condition. While using Xirtam H Tablet, some individuals may experience mild side effects such as nausea, upset stomach, headache, dizziness, or reduced blood pressure. These side effects typically fade over time and do not usually require medical intervention.

It is crucial not to discontinue the medication without consulting your doctor, as abrupt cessation could lead to an increase in blood pressure and heighten the risk of heart diseases and strokes. Inform your healthcare provider if you have pre-existing kidney, liver, or heart issues, or if you are diabetic. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should avoid Xirtam H Tablet due to potential harm to the baby. Additionally, the use of Xirtam H Tablet is contraindicated in certain conditions like the inability to urinate, dehydration, low blood pressure, or cardiogenic shock.

Prior to initiating Xirtam H Tablet therapy, it is essential to notify your healthcare provider of any existing kidney, liver, lung, or heart conditions. Long-term use of Xirtam H Tablet may elevate the risk of specific skin and lip cancers, necessitating precautions against sun exposure or UV rays during treatment. Common side effects of Xirtam H Tablet include dizziness, headache, weakness, tiredness, nausea, and vomiting, which should be discussed with your doctor if they worsen.
