About Wocaine 2% Gel

Wocaine 2% Gel is a local anesthetic that is used to temporarily numb specific areas of the body. It works by blocking the entry of sodium ions into the nerves, which helps in preventing the conduction of impulses, thus reducing the sensation of pain. This gel is commonly used as an anesthetic lubricant for medical procedures like catheter insertion and for treating painful inflammation in the urethra and bladder.

Additionally, Wocaine 2% Gel is effective in relieving pain and discomfort associated with various skin conditions such as irritation, burns, scratches, insect bites, and sunburn. It can also be used to manage post-herpetic neuralgia, a lasting pain following a shingles infection, and for the treatment of premature ejaculation. Moreover, this gel may be employed as an adjunct for endotracheal intubation and in the prevention and control of pain in urethritis (inflammation of the urethra).

When using Wocaine 2% Gel, patients should be aware of potential side effects such as redness, rash, burning, and itching at the site of application. While these side effects are typically mild and transient, individuals are advised to consult their doctor if they persist or cause concern. It is important to inform your healthcare provider if you have liver disease, are taking medications for heart rhythm problems, or are using any other medicines to ensure safe usage of Wocaine 2% Gel.

Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should seek advice from their healthcare team before using Wocaine 2% Gel. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions when applying the gel and to avoid contact with eyes, nose, or mouth. In case of accidental contact, rinse with water immediately. This gel is not recommended for children as its safety and effectiveness have not been established for this age group. It is also advised not to apply Wocaine 2% Gel on swollen skin areas or deep puncture wounds to prevent any adverse effects. Always communicate with your doctor about your health condition and medications to avoid any potential interactions with Wocaine 2% Gel.
