About Trixon-O 50mg Dry Syrup
Trixon-O 50mg Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine commonly used in children to treat various bacterial infections affecting different parts of the body like the ear, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract. It can also be effective in treating uncomplicated typhoid fever in children and adolescents.
For optimal absorption, it is recommended to give Trixon-O 50mg Dry Syrup an hour before or two hours after meals. However, if your child experiences stomach upset, it is advised to administer the medicine with meals. The dosage and duration of treatment should be strictly followed as directed by the doctor, depending on the type and severity of the infection. In case of vomiting within 30 minutes of intake, the same dose can be readministered, but doubling the dose should be avoided if it's close to the next scheduled dose.
It is important not to use this medicine for cold and flu symptoms since these are typically caused by viruses which antibiotics cannot treat. Physicians only recommend antibiotics like Trixon-O for cough and cold if there is an underlying secondary bacterial infection detected.
Although Trixon-O 50mg Dry Syrup may lead to minor and temporary side effects such as vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and allergy, these usually subside as the child's body adjusts to the medication. If these side effects persist or become bothersome, it is crucial to promptly inform the doctor.
When consulting your child's doctor, ensure to provide a comprehensive medical history including any prior allergies, heart issues, blood disorders, birth defects, airway obstruction, lung abnormalities, gastrointestinal problems, skin disorders, liver impairments, or kidney malfunctions. This information is vital for determining appropriate dosage adjustments and planning the overall treatment for your child.
