About Sumoflam Tablet
Sumoflam Tablet is a combined medication that helps in managing pain and inflammation. It functions by obstructing the release of specific chemical messengers responsible for pain, swelling, and fever in different situations. Furthermore, it aids in the healing process at the site of inflammation. It falls under the category of analgesics, which are utilized to alleviate mild to moderate pain.
This tablet, available in a pack of 15, is useful for treating conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, which commonly affect joints in various parts of the body. It is also effective for relieving acute pain such as toothache, ear pain, muscle ache, backache, and more. The components of Sumoflam Tablet include Nimesulide, Paracetamol, and Serratiopeptidase. Nimesulide and Paracetamol act as pain relievers, reduce fever, and combat inflammation by hindering the action of pain, fever, and inflammation-causing chemical messengers. On the other hand, Serratiopeptidase, an enzyme, breaks down abnormal proteins at the inflammation site, thus enhancing the healing process.
It is crucial to ingest Sumoflam Tablet with food to avoid stomach upset. The dosage depends on the condition being treated and the response to the medication. Adhering to the doctor's instructions is essential, and avoiding exceeding the recommended dosage or duration of usage is vital. Potential side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, increased liver enzymes, and heartburn. It's important to report any concerns about these side effects to your healthcare provider.
Patients with a history of ulcers, bleeding in the stomach, high blood pressure, or underlying issues with the heart, kidneys, or liver should inform their doctor before starting Sumoflam Tablet. Additionally, individuals taking other medications should disclose all these to their doctor to prevent potential interactions. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before initiating treatment. It is advisable to refrain from alcohol consumption while using this medication, as it can lead to excessive drowsiness.
Notably, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's guidelines, use of Sumoflam Tablet is prohibited for children under the age of 12. It is essential to exercise caution when administering this medication to the elderly and avoid misuse in patients with specific health conditions like liver failure, severe kidney malfunction, heart conditions, gastric ulcers, bleeding disorders, and history of substance abuse. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you experience dizziness while taking Sumoflam Tablet.
