About Sufrate TP Ointment

Sufrate TP Ointment is a combination of medicines used for treating bacterial skin infections by killing and preventing the growth of microorganisms that cause these infections. It also aids in improving the healing of tissues. It should be used according to the dosage and duration prescribed by your doctor, and it is important to wash your hands before applying the ointment. Always check the label for directions before use, as Sufrate TP Ointment is meant for external use only.

Sufrate TP Ointment 15 gm belongs to the antiseptic and antibiotic drug class, primarily used for treating minor wounds and infections such as lacerations, abrasions, diabetic foot ulcers, bedsores, impetigo, boils, carbuncles, and radiation/chemotherapy ulcers. This ointment contains three key medicines: Povidone Iodine, Tinidazole, and Sucralfate. Povidone Iodine acts as an antiseptic, inhibiting the growth of infection-causing microbes, especially used for skin disinfection before and after surgery. Tinidazole, an antibiotic, damages the DNA of bacteria and parasites, stopping their growth. Sucralfate, categorized as a protectant, forms a protective layer over ulcers and promotes healing.

Common side effects of Sufrate TP Ointment include dry skin, itching, burning, redness, and irritation at the application site. These side effects usually diminish during treatment and typically do not require medical attention. It is essential to inform your doctor about any known allergies to this medicine, as well as any other medical conditions you may have. If side effects persist or if you experience any other concerning symptoms that you believe might be linked to the ointment, do not hesitate to contact your doctor. Sufrate TP Ointment is safe for use by breastfeeding mothers, but pregnant women should consult their healthcare provider before using it.
