About Risnia Syrup
Risnia Syrup is a medication used to treat schizophrenia, a mental disorder that can lead to hallucinations or delusions, affecting a person's ability to think and behave. It is also used in the treatment of mania, a mood disorder characterized by euphoria or irritable mood, reduced sleep, hyperactivity, and uncontrollable thoughts and speech. Risnia Syrup contains Risperidone, which belongs to a group of medicines called antipsychotics. This medicine works by blocking the effects of chemical messengers in the brain, such as dopamine and serotonin, to improve mood, behavior, and thoughts.
It is essential to take Risnia Syrup as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food, preferably at night, to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. It is advised to take it at the same time each day and not to stop the medication suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this may worsen your symptoms. Risnia Syrup may cause side effects such as insomnia, sedation, parkinsonism, headache, and a sudden drop in blood pressure when changing positions. It is important to be cautious and avoid activities requiring mental focus until you understand how the medicine affects you.
Individuals using Risnia Syrup should be monitored for any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts. It is recommended to inform your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. Risnia Syrup may also increase the risk of developing diabetes, so regular monitoring of glucose levels is advised. Additionally, lifestyle modifications such as maintaining a healthy diet and regular exercise can help reduce side effects like weight gain associated with this medicine.
Before taking Risnia Syrup, inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or heart problems, or are planning to have eye surgery. Avoid alcohol consumption while on this medication, as it can increase dizziness. Pregnant women are advised to use Risnia Syrup with caution, and breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment. This medication is not recommended for elderly patients with dementia or children and adolescents under 18 years of age for schizophrenia or bipolar mania.
Common side effects of Risnia Syrup include sleep problems, irritability, depression, weight gain, dizziness, tremors, and headaches. If any of these symptoms persist or worsen, it is important to consult your doctor. Your healthcare provider may recommend diagnostic tests such as blood sugar levels or monitoring of body weight while you are being treated with Risnia Syrup.
