About Podil Oral Drop

Podil Oral Drop is an antibiotic medication specially designed for children to combat various bacterial infections that may affect different parts of the body such as the ears, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract. This medicine is also found to be effective in treating typhoid fever in children and adolescents.

It is recommended to administer Podil Oral Drop to your child one hour before or two hours after meals. In case your child experiences stomach upset, it is advised to give the medication with food. It is crucial to strictly adhere to the prescribed dosage as it is specifically determined based on the type of infection, its severity, and your child’s age and body weight. If your child regurgitates the medicine within 30 minutes of intake, you can repeat the same dose, but avoid doubling the dosage if it is close to the scheduled time for the next dose.

Avoid giving this medicine to your child for cold and flu symptoms as Podil Oral Drop is an antibiotic and does not effectively treat viral infections. Medical professionals only recommend this medication for cough and cold when they identify an underlying secondary bacterial infection.

Minor and temporary side effects of Podil Oral Drop may include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, rash, and headache. Typically, these symptoms diminish as your child's body adjusts to the medication. However, if these effects persist or become troubling for your child, it is advisable to contact the doctor promptly.

When discussing your child’s medical history with the doctor, ensure to provide comprehensive information including any previous occurrences of allergy, heart issues, blood disorders, birth defects, airway blockage, lung abnormalities, gastrointestinal problems, skin conditions, liver complications, and kidney issues. This detailed medical history is crucial for making necessary dose adjustments and devising a comprehensive treatment plan for your child.
