About Phoslam 400mg Tablet

Phoslam 400mg Tablet contains Sevelamer, a Phosphate Binding Agent used to treat high phosphate levels in the blood, especially in patients with severe kidney disease undergoing dialysis. Sevelamer works by blocking the absorption of phosphate from the intestines, thus lowering the phosphate levels in the blood.

It is important to take Phoslam 400mg Tablet with food as directed by your doctor. Taking it regularly and at the same time each day will help you get the most benefit from the medication. Your doctor may recommend certain tests during the treatment to monitor for any potential side effects.

While using Phoslam 400mg Tablet, it is essential to follow your doctor's dietary recommendations. This medication is not suitable for individuals with low blood phosphate levels or bowel obstruction. Caution is advised in patients with difficulty swallowing, stomach and bowel motility issues, or those with a history of major bowel surgery.

Pregnant women should only use Phoslam 400mg Tablet if deemed absolutely necessary by their doctor. It is unknown whether the medication passes into breast milk and may impact the infant, so consultation with a healthcare provider is recommended for breastfeeding mothers. Common side effects of Phoslam 400mg Tablet may include constipation, vomiting, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, indigestion, and flatulence. If any side effects worsen or persist, consult your doctor for further guidance.
