About Momstar 0.1% Cream

Momstar 0.1% Cream is a topical corticosteroid used for treating various skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and rash. This medication helps to alleviate symptoms such as swelling, itching, and redness. It is important to follow your doctor's instructions precisely when using Momstar 0.1% Cream. Apply it thinly on the affected skin area and avoid covering it with a bandage unless instructed otherwise. Use the cream regularly but not in excessive amounts or for a longer period than prescribed. Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve after two weeks of treatment.

Mometasone, a key ingredient in Momstar Cream, belongs to the group of drugs known as Topical Corticosteroids. This cream is effective in managing inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive skin conditions such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, scalp psoriasis, and seborrheic dermatitis. Psoriasis causes itchy, scaly patches on the skin, commonly found on knees, elbows, trunk, and scalp. Atopic dermatitis leads to red and itchy skin, while scalp psoriasis results in raised, reddish, scaly patches on the scalp. Seborrheic dermatitis affects the scalp, characterized by red, scaly patches and dandruff.

It is essential to avoid using Momstar Cream if you have certain skin conditions like rosacea, acne, skin atrophy, dermatitis around the mouth, genital itching, viral infections such as shingles, chickenpox, ulcerated skin, or wounds. Prior to applying the cream, notify your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease. Pregnant women should use Momstar Cream only if necessary and breastfeeding women should consult with their doctor before using it. The medication is not recommended for children under 2 years old. The common side effects of Momstar Cream include mild to moderate itching, burning, stinging sensation, folliculitis, skin dryness, and mild skin atrophy. If any of these symptoms worsen, consult your doctor promptly.
