About Lipicure-D 10 Tablet

Lipicure-D 10 Tablet is a medication used for treating high cholesterol levels in the body. This tablet is a combination of two medicines, namely atorvastatin and cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3). Atorvastatin is a type of medication known as statins or lipid reducers, while cholecalciferol is a form of Vitamin D3. The primary function of Lipicure-D 10 Tablet is to lower the levels of "bad" cholesterol (known as LDL) and triglycerides in the body. By doing so, this medicine helps in reducing the risk of future heart attacks and strokes.

Two types of cholesterol are present in the body, namely good cholesterol (HDL) and bad cholesterol (LDL). Good cholesterol aids in maintaining heart health by reducing bad cholesterol levels in the body. On the other hand, an excess of bad cholesterol (LDL) can lead to cardiovascular diseases like heart attacks and strokes. Lipicure-D 10 Tablet works by inhibiting liver enzymes responsible for cholesterol production, thus promoting a decrease in cholesterol synthesis in the body. Additionally, it enhances the liver's ability to remove cholesterol from the bloodstream, consequently lowering lipid levels such as cholesterol and triglycerides.

It is advised to take Lipicure-D 10 Tablet as per the prescribed schedule by your doctor, usually once daily at the same time. This medication can be taken with or without food, but it is recommended to swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Some common side effects of Lipicure-D 10 Tablet may include nausea, stomach pain, constipation, muscle weakness, and muscle pain. Regular monitoring of calcium levels, liver function, and blood sugar may be necessary while using this medication.

Before starting Lipicure-D 10 Tablet, inform your doctor about any existing medical conditions, current medications, pregnancy, or breastfeeding status. It is crucial to follow a cholesterol-lowering diet, engage in regular physical activity, and make necessary lifestyle changes as directed by your healthcare provider for optimal results. Avoid alcohol and grapefruit juice consumption while taking Lipicure-D 10 Tablet to prevent unwanted interactions or side effects. Let your doctor know if any side effects worsen, and seek medical advice promptly.
