About Estidox Drop

Estidox Drop is a type of antibiotic medicine used to treat various bacterial infections in children. It is commonly prescribed to target infections in areas such as the ears, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract. Additionally, Estidox Drop is effective in addressing typhoid fever in children and adolescents.

When administering Estidox Drop to your child, it is recommended to give it an hour before or two hours after meals. If your child experiences stomach upset, it is advisable to give the medicine with food. It is crucial to adhere to the prescribed dosage, as it is determined by factors like the type and severity of the infection, as well as the age and weight of your child. If your child vomits or expels the medicine within 30 minutes of intake, you can repeat the same dose. However, it is important not to double the dose if it is close to the time for the next scheduled dose.

It is important to note that Estidox Drop should not be given to children for cold and flu symptoms since it is an antibiotic and does not work on virus-induced infections. Doctors may consider prescribing this medicine for cough and cold only if they suspect an underlying secondary bacterial infection.

Potential minor and temporary side effects of Estidox Drop may include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, rash, and headache. Typically, these side effects diminish as the child's body adjusts to the medication. If the side effects persist or become concerning, it is advisable to consult the doctor promptly.

When discussing your child's medical history with the doctor, ensure to provide comprehensive information, including any past instances of allergy, heart issues, blood disorders, birth defects, airway obstructions, lung anomalies, gastrointestinal problems, skin disorders, liver impairments, and kidney malfunctions. This information is essential for determining appropriate dosage adjustments and devising an effective treatment plan for your child's overall well-being.
