About BetaMet 50mg Tablet

BETAMET ER 50MG TABLET, containing Metoprolol, falls under the category of medications known as Beta-blockers. It is primarily used in the treatment of various conditions such as high blood pressure, angina pectoris (chest pain), and heart failure. Additionally, it is effective in managing arrhythmias or palpitations and serves as a preventative measure against heart attacks and migraines.

When taking BETAMET ER 50MG TABLET, it is advised to abstain from consuming alcohol as it can lower blood pressure. Patients with specific medical conditions such as asthma, COPD, severe bradycardia, heart block, cardiogenic shock, decompensated cardiac failure, sick sinus syndrome (except with a permanent pacemaker), and untreated pheochromocytoma are not recommended to take BETAMET ER 50MG TABLET. Caution is also advised when using this medication in individuals with diabetes, stroke, liver or kidney disease, prior myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, and heart failure.

Pregnant women should use BETAMET ER 50MG TABLET only if deemed necessary by their healthcare provider. Breastfeeding women should be cautious, as the medication may pass through breast milk. Children below the age of 6 years should not be administered this medication, and elderly patients aged 65 years and above should use BETAMET ER 50MG TABLET with vigilance.

Side effects commonly associated with BETAMET ER 50MG TABLET include experiencing faints upon standing due to low blood pressure, fatigue, slow heartbeat, palpitations, dizziness, headache, cold extremities, among others.
