About Olmy-A 40 Tablet

Olmy-A 40 Tablet is a medication designed to manage high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. This condition can lead to serious health issues like heart disease and stroke if left untreated. Olmy-A 40 Tablet comprises two active ingredients, Olmesartan and Amlodipine, which work together to lower blood pressure.

Olmesartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker, functions by blocking the hormone angiotensin, leading to the relaxation of blood vessels. This process enables smoother blood flow and enhances the efficiency of the heart's pumping action. Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, relaxes blood vessels, reducing the workload on the heart and aiding in more effective blood circulation throughout the body. By combining these two medications, Olmy-A 40 Tablet helps lower high blood pressure, thereby decreasing the risk of heart attack or stroke.

You can take Olmy-A 40 Tablet with or without food, accompanied by a glass of water. It should not be chewed, bitten, or broken. Your doctor will provide guidance on the appropriate dosage based on your medical condition. Some common side effects of this medication may include headaches, drowsiness, ankle swelling, nausea, dizziness, and low blood pressure. While most of these side effects are mild and temporary, it is important to consult your doctor if they persist.

It is essential not to discontinue Olmy-A 40 Tablet without consulting your doctor, as abrupt cessation can lead to a rise in blood pressure and increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. If you have any underlying medical conditions such as kidney, liver, heart disease, or diabetes, inform your doctor before starting this medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should also seek medical advice before using Olmy-A 40 Tablet, as it may not be suitable during pregnancy. This medication is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Avoid using Olmy-A 40 Tablet if you have low blood pressure (hypotension) or cardiogenic shock. Inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking or if you have any known allergies to the components of Olmy-A 40 Tablet. Additionally, refrain from consuming grapefruit juice and St. John's wort plant while on this medication, as they are contraindicated and may interfere with its effectiveness.

Remember to stay hydrated while taking Olmy-A 40 Tablet and follow your doctor's instructions closely to effectively manage your blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart-related complications.
