A nephrologist is a doctor who is trained to diagnose and treat kidney-related conditions. Your kidneys do a lot of silent work, like filtering waste, balancing fluids, and keeping your blood pressure in check. When something goes wrong, a nephrologist steps in. Whether you have early signs of kidney disease, protein in your urine, or you are already on dialysis, the best nephrologist in Sri Krishna Puri will examine you thoroughly and build you a care plan tailor-made to protect your kidney health for the long run.
Here is a list of kidney-related conditions that the nephrologists in Sri Krishna Puri treat:
A nephrologist may recommend blood tests (creatinine, urea, eGFR), urine tests (protein, blood, microalbumin), kidney ultrasound, and electrolyte panels. For advanced evaluation, they may suggest a kidney biopsy, CT scan, or renal function tests. These investigations help assess kidney function, detect early damage, and guide treatment for conditions like chronic kidney disease or kidney stones.
You should see a nephrologist in Sri Krishna Puri if you experience persistent swelling in legs or face, foamy or bloody urine, reduced urine output, high creatinine levels, unexplained high blood pressure, or fatigue linked to kidney issues. It's also important for diabetics, hypertensives, or those with a family history of kidney disease to get regular screenings to catch problems early.
Booking your appointment on MediBuddy takes just a few minutes. Here is how:
A nephrologist reviews your medical history, blood pressure, and kidney or urine test results. They may recommend tests such as a kidney biopsy, ultrasound, or 24-hour urine collection, along with medications and dietary changes. For advanced kidney disease, they may also discuss dialysis or transplant options.
Picking the right kidney specialist need not be complicated. You just need to keep these points in mind:
Many hospitals in Sri Krishna Puri offer same-day or walk-in nephrology consultations for urgent concerns such as severe swelling, reduced urine output, or sudden kidney problems. Call ahead to confirm availability or check real-time slots on Medibuddy.
