A pulmonologist is a doctor who gets training to diagnose and treat conditions that are related to lungs and respiratory system. From common breathing problems to serious lung diseases, they handle it all. Whether you have shortness of breath, continuous cough, or a sleep-related breathing problem, the pulmonologists in Sholinganallur will examine you completely and create a care plan to keep your lungs healthy for years to come.
Here is the list of conditions that the best pulmonologist in Sholinganallur treats:
You should see a pulmonologist in Sholinganallur if you experience persistent cough (lasting more than 2-3 weeks), breathlessness, wheezing, chest tightness, recurring chest infections, or coughing up blood. It's also advisable for conditions like asthma, COPD, sleep apnea, or if you're a long-term smoker needing lung health evaluation. Sudden severe breathing difficulty requires immediate emergency care, not a routine visit.
It is very quick and easy to book a pulmonologist on MediBuddy. All you need is to follow these steps:
Step 1: Search Speciality- Open the MediBuddy app or website and type “Pulmonologist” or “Lung Specialist” in the search bar.
Step 2: Browse and Select- View different doctor’s profiles, check patient reviews, and choose a specialist that fits your needs.
Step 3: Pick a Time Slot- Next, choose a date and time that works best for you.
Step 4: Confirm and Pay- Lastly, enter your details, apply any insurance benefits, pay securely, and get instant booking confirmation.
When you visit the best pulmonologist in Sholinganallur, the consultation goes beyond just listening to your chest. First, the doctor will review your breathing patterns, assess your lung capacity, check your oxygen levels, and study your medical history in detail. Next, depending on what they find, they will recommend some breathing exercises, medications, inhalers, or specialised tests like a sleep study or pulmonary function test (PFT). In addition, you will also get clear guidance on the lifestyle changes you need to make such as quit smoking, avoid triggers, or enhancing your indoor air quality.
Quick, Hassle-Free Booking: You will get appointment confirmation within minutes, no calls or long queues.
Verified Doctors with Genuine Reviews: Browse profiles of qualified pulmonologists with actual patient ratings and confirmed credentials.
Doctors Who Understand Present-Day Triggers: You must look for specialists who are experienced in treating pollution-related lung problems, post-COVID complications, and stress-related breathing disorders that are common in working professionals.
Flexible Time Slots: Pick a date and time that works around your schedule.
In-Clinic Visits Available: Lastly, book a slot at a nearby clinic that fits your schedule and comfort.
In order to select the correct pulmonologist for yourself, you should keep in mind these simple steps:
It's an emergency if you notice: chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden severe headache, uncontrolled bleeding, loss of consciousness, signs of stroke (facial drooping, slurred speech, limb weakness), severe allergic reactions, high fever with seizures, or major trauma. In these cases, go straight to a hospital ER, not a clinic. For non-life-threatening issues—mild fever, minor cuts, common infections, routine follow-ups—a clinic visit is appropriate. When in doubt, especially with sudden or severe symptoms, err on the side of hospital care or call emergency services (108 in India).
Many hospitals in Sholinganallur offer same-day or walk-in pulmonology consultations, especially for urgent issues such as severe breathlessness, persistent cough, or chest infections. Availability may vary, so call ahead or check real-time slots on Practo.
The consultation charges for pulmonologists on MediBuddy usually range between Rs. 400 and Rs 3,000 for an in-clinic visit. However, the fee may vary depending on the doctor’s experience, area of expertise, and clinic location.
Yes, all pulmonologists and clinics on MediBuddy are verified. You can check each doctor's qualifications, specialisation, and real patient ratings before booking, which makes your choice easier and safer.
