Yes, cardiothoracic surgeons perform minimally invasive and major procedures including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair or replacement, lung lobectomy, and robotic-assisted thoracic surgery. Major or complicated surgery requires hospital admission, ICU monitoring, and a multidisciplinary care team that may include cardiologists, pulmonologists, anaesthetists, and rehabilitation specialists.

See a cardiothoracic surgeon if you have persistent chest pain, breathlessness on exertion, a chronic cough that will not resolve, unexplained weight loss, or coughing up blood. You should also consult one if a cardiologist or pulmonologist has advised surgery, you want an expert opinion, or need guidance on a diagnosed heart or lung condition.
